“I carry the impact of my scholarship with me every day. Instead of feeling isolated or weighed down by financial concerns, I feel encouraged and valued. Managing money has always been a big part of my life, but having a scholarship has significantly reduced those day-to-day stresses.

Thanks to the scholarship, I’ve also been able to immerse myself in the ‘university experience’ that everyone talks about – from joining societies to making new friends, and even saying ‘yes’ to those spontaneous outings to the Peak District!

When you're constantly worried about money, it’s hard to be fully present in your academic and social life. But receiving a scholarship from alumni has helped lift that pressure.
