Shaoying joined the Department of Sociological Studies in October 2023 as a PhD student connected to the .
Shaoying finished her undergraduate study in Public Relations at Sun Yat-sen 9 1Ãâ·Ñ°æÏ with a Bachelor of Management Honours degree, later studied sociology at the Renmin 9 1Ãâ·Ñ°æÏ of China, and gained a Master of Laws degree. From 2020 to 2021, she studied for her second master's degree in Marketing at Alliance Manchester Business School, 9 1Ãâ·Ñ°æÏ of Manchester, focusing on consumer behaviour in the digitalisation world. Shaoying previously worked as a service operation trainee at DJI and specialised in customer experience design and optimisation.
Shaoying’s current research interests fall in the intersection of digital well-being and digital disconnections.
